From Burma and Back

Petra arrived in the United States following a 20 year stay as a refugee in the Thailand camps. After years in United States where there is an abundance of Christian workers access to the gospel and churches, Petra gave his heart and life to Jesus Christ. Having fled a country torn by the longest running civil war between Burma and Myanmar, Petra's family lived independency of the United Nations for food, shelter, and water. The majority of his ethnic group they Karenni people come from a strict Buddhist and animistic background. It is a culture surrounded by tribal darkness and witchcraft.

Through discipleship Petra felt like God was calling him to Pastor. Having a deep desire now to see his people group come to know Jesus, Petra has been working among Karenni churches in the United States equipping and training the pastors theologically and evangelistic. Yet his desire is now to return to his home country in light of the dangers for one reason, to see his people come to know Jesus Christ.

Petra will spend the month of December in Thailand looking for places to relocate his family and partners working in that field. His plan is to return full-time with his family in May. Please pray for Petra and his family as they pursue deep obedience to return home with the gospel despite the difficulties ahead.
