KSC and THE Partnership in South Sudan

In the sweltering heat of a remote South Sudanese village, Abraham Deng was struck by the sight of a lone Coca-Cola sign—and the haunting absence of the Gospel beside it. His observation highlights a powerful truth: if a global brand can overcome logistical barriers, so can the message of Christ. This realization fuels his mission to bring hope, faith, and transformation to underserved communities. Through his work, Abraham is committed to ensuring that the Gospel travels just as far—and even farther—than any commercial product.

Abraham Deng and The Hope Encounter are using education as a platform for church planting and Gospel ministry in Wau, South Sudan. A June 27 fundraiser will help support the Hope Encounter Christian School and expand opportunities for students and communities. Plans are underway to launch a 1–3 month educator internship program while pursuing sustainable business initiatives including a water filtration enterprise and a brick-making operation. Through these efforts, The Hope Encounter is demonstrating how ministry, education, and economic development can work together to bring lasting hope and transformation.
